In this course, you will learn all the essential basics for working in a darkroom. From using an enlarger, preparing chemicals, printing contact sheets from your film, to creating a proper print. You will take everything home on the same day.

What you will learn:

- Introduction to basic darkroom equipment
- How to enlarge at home
- Using various timing methods
- How to ensure the print has maximum tonal range
- How to select contrast
- How to achieve even borders
- How to avoid grey photographs
- How to prepare and efficiently store chemicals
- How to achieve perfectly sharp enlargements from edge to edge
- An overview of all types of RC and fiber-based papers
- How and why to make contact prints
- Basics of dodging and burning techniques
- Basics of split-grading

All materials, including fresh paper and chemicals, are included in the price. Just bring your own developed 35mm or medium format film.

Participants are offered free parking directly in front of the lab.
